This was very interesting because I never knew there were restrictions in the city as to when and where you are allowed to shoot. As a filmmaker this is important because even in the film industry there are restrictions, and I will have to learn how to manage my time wisely to be successful since they can only shoot at a certain time, they need to balance their time. A question this raises is why is the city of Los Angeles so strict when it comes to holidays?

Film Restrictions
Los Angeles seems to be the only city to have restrictions for filmmakers when it comes to long holidays. During the months of November and December, many parts of the cities will be restricted to filmmakers for 6 weeks, which begins on November 23 and will continue up to January 2. The city's film permit office, FilmLa, is urging the filmmakers to plan their shoots after 9 PM during those 6 weeks of restrictions. A film office official from Miami, where they are even allowed to shoot on Christmas Day said," Wow! That's a long time." Janis Burklund, Dallas Film Commissioner, stated," I'm glad we don't have that. That would be a killer." They have no film restrictions for any holidays in her city.
